Subhamita, a new name in the field of Music has already gained immense popularity for her new Bengali Songs. Some of her songs has been rated among the top ten popular New Bengali Songs of the City.
She was born in 1973. Subhamita took her initial taleem from her father Sri Joshoda Dulal Das in North Indian Classical Music. Then she joined the prestigious Sangit Research Academy as a senior Scholar and took taleem from none other than Pt. Ulhas Kashalkar of the Jaipur Gwalior Gharana.
Subhamita Received National Scholarship from Government of India in 1992. She Stood first in the HMV Golden Talent Contest in 1993. She became First Champion in "SA THEKE SA" - a Musical based programme in E-TV Bangla.
Some of her audio releases like- "ABISHKAR" - A Taal Audio Production consists of New Bengali Songs composed by the famous composer and performer Nachiketa (2001), "PHIRE DAKHA" - In 2003 her second album was again released from Tal Audio. Again this album was directed by Nachiketa, "ICCHE PARI" Released in 2004 from Sagarika Music Pvt. Ltd. Both the albums were successfully launched and gained great popularity. Subhamita established herself as a new female singer of NATUN BANGLA GAAN (New Bengali Songs) and was acclaimed by the musicians, music directors and music loving people of the city.
In last three years Subhamita has performed more than fifty Tele-Serials and feature films. She has worked with all leading music directors of the City. Feature films like, "Tin Ekke Tin" - A Black Magic Production. (already released), "Mohul Bonir Sheren" - (Directed by Shekhar Das)(already released), "Ekti Meye Tamashi" - Yet to be released, "Abar Ashbo Phire" - a Ravi Ojha Production-music director Jolly Mukherjee of Bombay, "Chiro sakha" a film best on Tagore.
Subhamita has worked with many music directors like, Nachiketa, Kalyan Sen Barat, Amit Banerjee, Tanmoy Bose, Tejendra Majumder, Bapi Lahiri, Chiradeep Das Gupta, Jolly Mukherjee, Debajyoti Mishra, Debojyoti Bose, Debijit , Tapan Sinha. She has performed many title songs in the serials of leading TV channels like, "Nagordola", " E To Noi Sudhu Gaan", "Bonhishikha" etc.
She has performed in many places. Some of her special performances like, Invited specially from ETV Bangla to take part in "AMAR GAAN" - an interview based programme, Invited by HMV to perform for HMV throughout West Bengal as guest artist, Invited by "AMAR FM" - the popular Bengali FM channel in Calcutta to perform for their annual programme. She is regularly performing with all renowned artists like Nachiketa, Srikanto Acharya, Lopa Mudra Mitra etc. She has been invited by all Television channels of the city to perform on their behalf.
